Skiing

Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts

I volunteer as a skiing instructor with Rokka Ski School at Snoqualmie Summit. Returning to help out at the ski school that taught me when I was younger, I help with teaching students as young as 5 with their first ski lessons to refining their skills on black runs.

The ski school is a voluntary organization and instructors are non-paid. This helps Rokka keep its rates low and affordable to all and make skiing more accessible to all.

Girl Scouts

I was a Girl Scout for 12 years, receiving my Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. Through community service, cookie sales, and fundraising, Girl Scouts taught me many skills and gave me the opportunity to help others. I refined my communication and teamwork skills and am proud to have been part of the organization.

Tutoring

Tutoring

Individual tutoring for younger kids, especially when working on fundamental mathematics, can be especially useful for boosting their STEM skills and self-confidence. Often kids receive help with their homework from their parents, however, those from low-income and underprivileged families do not have such opportunities. Helping those kids with their schoolwork can help them reach their potential.

Cooper Union

Engineering Student Council

Engineering Student Council

Engineering Student Council

I was involved with ESC for all four years at Cooper Union. My first three years, I was the class representative for the BSEs. My last year I was the administrative-chair for the council. We regularly met with the Dean of Engineering and President of Cooper Union (and other administration), ran regular meetings of 30 students, and ran fundraisers and events to support the student body.

Joint Activities Committee

The JAC runs the student activities fund of $75,000, determining the allocation process. Over the last couple years, we have redesigned the process, restructured the committee, and developed new hiring procedures to ensure a more equitable distribution of funds.

Joint Student Council

JSC is the combined council of all three schools' student councils. Art, architecture, and engineering work together to develop and communicate student body issues to the faculty and administration. Having been both a representative and administrative chair, I've consulted on and spearheaded several issues.

Peer Mentor

As a peer mentor at Cooper, I guided incoming freshmen on the resources available. Increasing accessibility and information available on faculty, administration, and the student body.
